This fall, as the Roseanne show spinoff “The Conners” premieres, Roseanne says she won’t be around. In a recent podcast she said she wanted to move to Israel.
Roseanne’s character will be dead as the new show begins.
On the podcast, Roseanne told her longtime friend, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, that she didn’t plan to watch the new show.
“I have an opportunity to go to Israel for a few months and study with my favorite teachers over there,” Barr said. “And that’s where I’m going to go and probably move somewhere there and study with my favorite teachers. I have saved a few pennies and I’m so lucky I can go. It’s my great joy and privilege to be a Jewish woman.”
Roseanne is apparently trying to avoid any controversy surrounding the new show.

“I’m staying neutral,” she said. “That’s what I do. I’m staying neutral. I’m staying away from it. Not wishing bad on anyone and I don’t wish good for my enemies. I don’t. I can’t. I just stay neutral. That’s what I gotta do.”
The cancellation of her original show, Roseanne, came after an offensive tweet aimed at former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett. Roseanne compared the African American woman to an ape. Immediately after, ABC announced that they would cancel the show.
Initially, Roseanne apologized for her offensive tweet. She tried blaming Ambien. Now she says she regrets apologizing.
