According to the Woody Johnson, U.S. ambassador to the UK, Trump is expected to avoid London as much as possible during his four-day visit to the United Kingdom. This will potentially allow him to avoid the protests that are planned in the city.

During Trump’s visit, large protests are scheduled for July 12-15 in London. One of the protests will include a “Trump baby” blimp that was approved by London mayor Sadiq Khan to fly over the Parliament.

The Facebook event for the July 13-14 protest shows that there are more than 58,000 people who are planning to attend.

During a press briefing, when Johnson was asked if Trump is avoiding London to keep away from the protests, he denied the claims.

Johnson claimed, “No, the president is not avoiding anything. The president is merely trying to get as impactful a trip as he can get in a 24-hour period.”

The White House confirmed that Trump will only spend Thursday night in London before he meets with Prime Minister Theresa May at Chequers, the country retreat in Buckinghamshire.

Then he will head to Windsor Castle to meet Queen Elizabeth II and then he will go to Scotland for the weekend.

Currently, the schedule for Scotland is not public yet and will be revealed next week. But Trump does own a golf course in the country and the original reports revealed that Trump wants to visit Scotland. His Scotland trip is expected to cost the country as much as $6 million for security.
