Other CNN reporters were invited to White House Christmas party – April Ryan was not (Details)

April Ryan, an American Urban Radio Networks correspondent, reveals that she was not invited to the annual White House Christmas party for the first time in 20 years.

The Christmas party is scheduled for this Friday at 2 pm.

The news was tweeted by the NAACP on Wednesday.

Ryan, who is also a CNN contributor, believes this is not a mistake.

She insisted, “I don’t think I was overlooked.”

Ryan added, “I think they don’t like me. For whatever reason, they have disdain for me.”

She has repeatedly has gone head to head with both of the White House press secretaries and has recently spoken up against the administration saying they treat reporters of color as “the opposition.”

Most recently, over the Thanksgiving weekend, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Ryan clashed over a picture of pecan pie that Sanders baked.

Ryan asked Sanders if she actually baked the pie.

To which, Sanders replied:

Ryan isn’t the only one who will not be attending this year’s Christmas party. CNN revealed yesterday they will not attend as well. However, CNN chose not to go while Ryan was not invited.

According to Politico, there are other reporters who have mixed feelings about going to the Christmas party.
