Before Trump took his 12-day long Asia trip, White House staff decided to cut Trump’s Asia trip short because they feared Trump could get “cranky.” They were also worried that it could lead to “unpredictable or undiplomatic behavior.”
They found out their fears were legitimate. While Trump was invited to a formal banquet as a guest of honor, he had a hard time staying awake.
During the toast given by the Vietnamese president Tran Dai Quang, “a sleepy-looking Trump opened and closed his eyes repeatedly.” Also when the toast was finished, Trump raised a glass of Diet Coke.
Vietnam is the fifth country Trump visited during his Asia trip. His last stop this trip will be in the Philipines. He was expected to land around 5 PM.

When he landed, Trump tweeted:

Hours before Trump landed in the Philippines, riot police had to prevent hundreds of protesters from reaching the Manila’s U.S. embassy. The police had used a water cannon to do so. The protesters were carrying signs that read, “Dump Trump” and “Down with U.S. Imperialism.”
When he arrived, he was met by Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte. Duterte has been criticized for his human rights records. After some pictures, Trump headed off to a gala dinner for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
Below are some signs by protesters that could be seen at the Philippine International Convention Center:
