During the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday night, Eminem ripped into the National Rifle Association (NRA). He accused the gun lobby group of loving “their guns more than our children.”
He was introduced onto the stage by rapper Big Sean and Alex Moscou. Alex is one of the student survivors of the Florida high school massacre, who wore a “March for Our Lives” t-shirt.
Eminem’s jab at the NRA took place when he was performing his song “Nowhere Fast,” where he added a freestyle verse. He also seemed to be taking a jab at Trump.
This whole country is going nuts, and the NRA is in our way
They’re responsible for this whole production
They hold the strings, they control the puppet
And they threaten to take donor bucks
So they know the government won’t do nothing and no one’s budging
Gun owners clutching their loaded weapons
They love their guns more than our children.

This isn’t the first time Eminem has spoken out against the administration and Trump. He made headlines last year for his freestyle rap during the BET Awards where he slammed Trump.
Also, during an interview with Billboard in January, he went after Trump. In the interview, he stated, “Anything would have been better [than Trump]. A fucking turd would have been better as a president.”
Eminem’s rap comes after the White House released a school safety proposal that is in line with the NRA.
The White House revealed that it will not support universal background checks. However, they do support firearm training for some teachers and staff. Also, Trump backed off on his call to raise the age to purchase a firearm from 18 to 21.
