On Friday, at the G7 summit, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau seemed to struggle to keep himself from laughing after he gave a special present to Trump.
He presented Trump with a framed photo of a hotel and brothel that Trump’s grandfather owned in Canada.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tweeted a photo of the moment. She captioned the photo: “Great moment between @JustinTrudeau and @POTUS when he gave him picture of the President’s grandfather’s hotel in Canada. #G72018.”

In 1897, Trump’s grandfather, Friedrich Trump, opened up The Arctic Restaurant and Hotel. This was one of the first properties in the Trump family real estate empire. Trump denied the hotel was used as a brothel but history remembers differently.
According to a Bloomberg report in 2016, the hotel operated as a brothel and was advertised as an open round-the-clock featuring “private boxes for ladies and parties.” The report also added that there was a scale for weighing gold dust that was used to pay for “services.”
The hotel/brothel was later campaigned to be transformed into a tourist attraction.
