On Wednesday, Rush Limbaugh, notorious right-wing talk show host, broke with Trump on the matter of NFL players taking a knee during the national anthem.

On The Limbaugh Show, he asserted, “There’s a part of this story that’s starting to make me nervous, and it’s this: I am very uncomfortable with the president of the United States being able to dictate the behavior and power of anybody. That’s not where this should be coming from.”

Limbaugh went on to say that he believes that Trump’s motives are “pure” but argued that Trump’s constant attack isn’t helping the broader debate.

Limbaugh continued, “Trump is continually tweeting — I know what he’s doing, and I understand why he’s doing it, and his motives are pure; don’t misunderstand. But I don’t think that it is useful or helpful for any employee anywhere to be forced to do something because the government says they must.”

Limbaugh added, “We don’t want the president being able to demand anybody that he’s unhappy with behave in a way he requires.”

Limbaugh’s comments were sparked after Trump tweeted that Roger Goodell is demanding all players stand for the national anthem.

But the NFL league spokesperson released a statement to clarify that Trump’s tweet was inaccurate.

The spokesperson stated, “Commentary this morning about the Commissioner’s position on the Anthem is not accurate. The NFL is doing the hard work of trying to move from protest to progress, working to bring people together.”

Currently, Trump is losing the support in rural areas that helped him win the Electoral College during the presidential election.

Also, Trump’s trusted advisers, such as Steve Bannon, are starting to doubt the Trump presidency. According to sources, Bannon told people he thinks that Trump has a 30 percent chance of finishing his term.
