Republican lawmaker cries sexual assault after Democrat touches his arm (w/video)

In a very bizarre homophobic rant, PA Rep. Daryl Metcalfe turned an otherwise mundane meeting into a viral video after a fellow lawmaker lightly touched his arm.

After PA Rep. Matt Bradford, a Democrat, touched Metcalfe’s arm, Metcalfe responded by saying “Look, I’m a heterosexual. I have a wife, I love my wife, I don’t like men — as you might. But stop touching me all the time.”

“Keep your hands to yourself,” Metcalfe went on, as Bradford began laughing. “If you want to touch somebody, you have people on your side of the aisle who might like it. I don’t.”

“We’re officially off the rails … My intent was just to beg for your permission for about 30 seconds,” Bradford replied.

PA Democratic Governor Tom Wolfe has called Metcalfe’s remarks ‘offensive and discriminatory.’ Additionally, the PA Democratic Party has demanded that Metcalfe resign.

When CBSPhilly contacted Metcalfe for a statement, he responded: “the homosexual crowd thinks that they can, you know, flaunt their sexuality routinely throughout the course of the day and throughout our government now and debate after debate.”

Bradford has since pointed out that he has a wife, along with four children. He called Metcalfe’s reaction “really inappropriate.” Bradford explained that he often talks with his hands and tried to calm Metcalfe after the incident.

This isn’t the first time Metcalfe expressed his homophobia. He has long been an opponent of LGBT rights. After the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage he called it “judicial tyranny.”

“It shows what tyrants they are when they think that they can place themselves above God’s law, above natural law, and above the will of the American people as we’ve seen it expressed in state after state after state,” Metcalfe told PennLive after the SCOTUS ruling.
