On Monday, at an international conference in the Philippines, Trump has added another awkward handshake to his collection.
Trump and awkward handshakes are synonymous with his presidency. He usually pulls the other person towards him and then pats or yanks on their hand. He’s also known to hold on for an uncomfortably long time.
During the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit, the event started with a photo op that consisted of a “traditional” ASEAN handshake. The handshake has some cross body maneuvering to it where leaders extend their right arm over their left and join hands with the leaders next to them.
However, the instructions on how to do the handshake seemed to confuse Trump.
He started out by looking at the two leaders to his right and left and extended his arms for a ‘normal’ handshake. Then he noticed something wasn’t quite right.
Eventually, Trump laughed and crossed his arms then reached out to the correct directions. He made a funny face as he was trying to reach the hands of the two leaders next to him. Then he finally got it but it still looked very awkward.
Below are pictures of how it went for Trump.

6. So he finally switched his hands and struggled to get a hold of the Philippines president Rodrigo Duterte’s hand.

What really happened is that Trump at 300+ lbs. cannot wrap his arms around his body-thus the grimace & inability to complete the group handshake. Those quarter pounders & buckets of KFC will do that to you.
