On Thursday, Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign is reportedly sending out mass emails that claim his approval rating is “better than Obama.” The header for the email simply reads, “Better than Obama.”

Upon opening the email, it states, “President Trump has a stronger approval rating (48%) today than President Barack Obama (44%) did in 2010 on this same day. But we bet you won’t hear it from the media.”

(The email is addressed to Zilda because the person who received the email apparently uses the name “Zilda Snaggletooth” for their emails.)

Then when you scroll down on the email, it’ll ask you to rate Trump’s job performance with the options: Great, Good, Okay and other.

The email does not cite any sources for their claim.

But it seems as though the figures were from a Feb. 8th Rasmussen poll that shows Trump has a 48 percent approval rating and 50 percent disapproval rating.

Trump’s figure was compared Obama’s approval rating from a Feb. 8, 2010  Rasmussen poll. The poll indicated Obama had an approval rating of 46 percent and a disapproval rating of 54 percent. Rasmussen is known to be a conservative-leaning poll.

However, according to a poll from Real Clear Politics, Trump only has an approval rating of  42.3 percent while Obama had an approval rating of 47.9 percent on Feb 10, 2010.
