While Japan is known to be one of the best places for food, Trump was not willing to deviate from his usual diet.

On Sunday, while Trump was having lunch with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, he decided to go for a well-done hamburger instead.

On the first day, he arrived in Japan, Trump played golf with the Prime Minister and was joined by professional golfer Hideki Matsuyama.

In a Facebook message from the prime minister, it read, “I welcome President Donald J Trump most wholeheartedly on his visit to Japan! We’re getting down to business right away over hamburgers for our working lunch.”

According to an excerpt from the book Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump, during Trump’s trip to Japan in 1990, he would not eat “fucking raw fish.” It showed that he went for a McDonald’s hamburger that cheered him up greatly.

Trump’s love for burgers and well-done steaks can be seen on multiple social media outlets. He reportedly likes his steaks with ketchup.

He also received criticism for dumping the box of fish food into a pond of koi carp during a welcoming ceremony at the Akasaka Palace in Tokyo.

Since the election, Abe and Trump developed a warm relationship. Trump has invited Abe to his Mar-a-Lago resort after the inauguration.

Japan is the first stop for Trump of the five-nation Asia trip.
