Former model Hope Hicks clearly wasn’t chosen as White House communications director due to her political experience. In fact, she had none. Yet, she quickly became Trump’s highest-paid staffer in the White House. This led many to believe she is Trump’s mistress.
Now, in a new book, Let Trump Be Trump: The Inside Story of His Rise to the Presidency, Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and associate David Bossie give a behind the scenes look into the Trump administration. In the book, they describe most of the Trump team as “mostly didn’t know the difference between a caucus and a cactus.”
Hope Hicks apparently knew even less.
Most Americans are familiar with the Koch brothers, the evil billionaire pair that has funded the Republican Party for decades. The Kochs inherited their father’s company and his idea that government shouldn’t intrude on people’s lives. They have spent hundreds of millions of dollars to push candidates and policies that favor their businesses.
Yet, according to Lewandowski and Bossie, Hicks seemed to think that the Koch brothers were from Coca-Cola.
“Hope had so little knowledge of politics [before the campaign] that when Corey told her he had worked for the Kochs she asked if he knew Danny Masters, ‘he’s worked for Coke for a while,’” said Hope, apparently confusing Kochs and Coke.

In a later phone call with Trump, Lewandowski says Trump admitted she has zero experience.
“She had about as much experience as a coffee cup,” [Trump said, according to the book].
“But she’s good-looking,” [Lewandowski] said.
“That always helps,” [Trump] said.
Aside from knowing almost nothing about politics, Hicks was tasked with some very strange jobs. The book explained that Trump would demand Hicks steam his suit while he wears it.
“‘Get the machine!’ [Trump would] yell. And Hope would take out the steamer and start steaming Mr. Trump’s suit, while he was wearing it!” they write.
