Trump’s spiritual adviser says Jesus ‘wouldn’t be Messiah’ if he broke immigration laws

On Monday, during her interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), Trump’s spiritual adviser claimed that Jesus “would not have been our Messiah” if he broke immigration laws.

Paula White claimed there is a difference between the immigrants who are detained for entering the U.S. illegally vs Jesus being a refugee in Egypt.

White is the leader of a Florida Pentecostal church. She is known to be a friend and counselor to Trump for more than 16 years.

White stated, “I think so many people have taken biblical scriptures out of context on this, to say stuff like, ‘well, Jesus was a refugee.’ And yes, he did live in Egypt for three-and-a-half years. But it was not illegal. If he had broke the law then he would have been sinful and he would not have been our Messiah.”

Also during her interview, she talked about her trip to the detention center. She stated that the trip “100 percent” solidified her view of stricter border control.

She also added that the detained immigrants receive “not just three square meals, psychiatric care, clinician, medical care, chapel, events, schooling, language, and love.”

However, this claim has been disproven by many reports that show otherwise.

White’s comments come as Trump has promised an executive order to end the zero-tolerance policy that separates children from their families at the border.

However, before supposedly ending the policy, Trump administration officials have also used the Bible to defend the practice.
