Twitter’s having a blast mocking the attendance of Trump’s first National tree lighting ceremony (w/ tweets)

On Thursday, the holiday season was kicked off with Trump and the first family lighting the National Christmas Tree.

The annual event happened on the White House Ellipse. Today’s lighting marks the 95th year this has been done.

The event was hosted by Kathie Lee Gifford and Dean Cain. The ceremony will be broadcasted on Monday, December 7th at 7 pm ET on the Hallmark channel.

ABC7s’ Steve Rudin was there to cover the event. He wrote that the ceremony was “beautiful” but also noticed the attendance size.

He tweeted:

Twitter was full of people poking fun at the attendance size and compared it to the crowd size that Obama had. Some people compared the crowd size to Trump’s inauguration size.
